Our Winston-Salem, N.C., campus houses an academic community of almost 9,000 students, with more studying at Wake Forest locations in Charlotte, Washington, D.C., and around the world. Our undergraduate liberal arts curriculum inspires a holistic approach to preparing graduate and professional school students. Rev. Ben Chavis to deliver keynote at Environmental Justice Summit

Environmental justice and civil rights activist Rev. Ben Chavis will deliver the keynote address at Wake Forest’s Environmental Justice Summit. Chavis is a prominent activist and vocal advocate for environmental justice, highlighting the disproportionate impact of pollution on minority communities and advocating for policy changes. “Environmental Justice in the Midst of Polycrisis: Where Do We Go From Here?” will be held in Benson University Center on April 30, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Vega named 2025 TED Fellow

Claudia Vega, a Fellow at Wake Forest’s Sabin Family Center for Environment and Sustainability, has been selected as a 2025 TED Fellow for her groundbreaking work on the environmental and human health impacts of mercury pollution from illegal gold mining in the Amazon.

Kicking off the three-day “We Play Together: Music & Gaming” event, @wfusymphony performed music from Starfield and Fallout in an open dress rehearsal with composer Inon Zur.

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County high school students were in the audience, getting a closer look at how video game scores come to life, shaped by emotion, precision and player choice.

The event continued with a masterclass led by Zur and a panel discussion featuring astronaut Dan Tani, Bethesda’s Pete Hines, and Symphony Orchestra Director J. Aaron Hardwick. It wrapped up Saturday with an Esports LAN tournament.
